This is Steven Ruiz’s Destiny 2 blog at singularityugreecesummit.org. Below I describe what readers and subscribers leave with me, and what I do about it.
What I end up with
Details you give me
Signing up for the newsletter, posting in the community forums or writing to me puts your name, email address and anything else you decide to add in my hands.
Details your browser gives me
Cookies and similar tools record how people move around: browser type, pages opened, time spent on them.
Where it gets used
Mostly to see what Destiny 2 readers care about, so I can write more of it. I also answer your messages, send notices about any account you have, and sometimes send promotional mail from me or from marketing partners. Combined traffic numbers help me read the blog’s trends.
Cookies and your control over them
Cookies show me which parts of the blog get visited and help measure whether ads and searches work. Your browser can refuse some or all of them or tell you when a site sets one. Some parts of the site might then fail to load or behave oddly.
Emails
You can stop promotional email whenever you like. Every message includes an unsubscribe link or instructions.
Passing information on
- Providers who work for me on hosting, analytics, email delivery and marketing help may see your details.
- I may reveal information when a law demands it, or when I honestly believe it is needed to meet a legal duty, defend my rights or property, or keep people safe.
Security
I use a range of protections so that what you type in or look up stays safe.
Links to other sites
Some posts point to sites I have nothing to do with. After you click through, this page no longer applies, and I cannot promise how those sites treat your data.
When this page changes
Any revision will appear right here. A quick look every so often is a good habit.
